Writing education is an important aspect of developing literacy and communication skills in Indonesia. Although there has been an increase in research in this field, there is a gap between existing theory and practice in the field, particularly in the implementation of effective learning strategies and technology in writing education. This study aims to analyze trends and patterns of research in writing education in Indonesia through a bibliometric approach. In this way, it is expected to identify existing research gaps and provide recommendations for the development of more innovative teaching methods. The methods used include data collection with the Publish or Perish (PoP) software to gather information on publications and citations. Subsequently, analysis is conducted using VOSviewer to map the collaboration networks of authors and citation relationships between articles. The main findings indicate that there are 3,567 papers with a total of 10,333 citations, and the average citation per paper is 2.90. The Hirsch index reaches 40, indicating the presence of influential publications. Although various innovative methods have been implemented, gaps in research related to the integration of technology and modern pedagogy still need to be addressed. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that bibliometric analysis provides valuable insights into the direction of writing education research. The resulting recommendations are expected to assist educators in designing more effective curricula and teaching methods, thereby improving the quality of writing education in Indonesia.
